On October 4, Bremen-based indie pop trio Havington will release their debut album “troubled heart“ on AdP Records. The three musicians – Luka, Malte and Tom – have already made a name for themselves with sold-out concerts from Berlin to Munich, appearances at renowned festivals such as Melt! and the SWR 3 New Pop Festival and placements in Spotify playlists such as “New Music Friday Deutschland” and “Indie Brandneu”. Their songs perfectly capture the feeling of red wine evenings in a shared room and summer Sundays in the city and accompany listeners through the highs and lows of everyday life.
Havington create an unmistakable sound in their music, which is made up of harmonious guitars, atmospheric synth sounds, energetic rhythms and dreamy vocals. The result is a mixture of indie pop that encourages both dancing and reflection – a world of sound that entices you to immerse yourself and dream, while at the same time capturing the zeitgeist of an entire generation.
The album is of course also available on all streaming portals, but also in special versions on blue vinyl and on CD.
The song “Trace” deals with the fear of forgetting and the power of memories – a heartbreak song that transforms melancholy traces of life into danceable melodies. “Picture” and “Hoping for More” continue this mood: “Picture” tells of pensive moments, carried by the gentle duet vocals of Luka and Malte, while “Hoping for More” sings of the lightness and excitement of young love.
The band shows its versatility with the songs “Stressed Out” and “Hey”. “Stressed Out” captures the foggy feeling of being overwhelmed, while at the same time the song expresses the desire for change. With its driving indie sound, “Hey” tells the story of getting to know someone for the first time, the courage to take the first step and the magic that lies in small gestures.
“Everything’s Alright” celebrates the everyday moments when everything is just right because the right person is there. Recorded in a remote wooden hut, the song features natural sounds such as birdsong and the rustling of leaves, which lend the music a special intimacy.
With “July”, Havington captures the feeling of summer perfectly. The song is an ode to the lightness and light-heartedness of young summer love – from the clinking of ice cubes in the Aperol to the clicking of the Polaroid camera, summer is made audible.
Finally, “All Because of You” gets to the heart of the insecurities and tingling of new love. The song is about doubts as to whether the other person feels the same and at the same time encourages people to take a look through rose-tinted glasses – because what could be better than being newly in love?
“troubled heart“ was produced by Jonas Holle (Milky Chance, Sportfreunde Stiller), who captured the band’s sound in a wonderful way. With the new album in the bag, Havington will be embarking on a major tour of Germany this fall. An exciting fall lies ahead.
