Each episode features artists sharing their experiences, the things they’ve learned to do and not to do, the challenges they’ve faced and the situations they’ve overcome. Whether you’re a music industry veteran or trying to break in, this podcast is for you. From Artist To Artist was started by Stefany, the female half of the duo Wolf & Moon.
“I’ve always found it exciting to hear about other artists life’s. The stories of how they got to the point where they are today. And not necessarily those artists who’s biography we can read in books or watch on Netflix. But those like (you and) me. Those with who’m I’m walking on the same path, yet we’re taking different exits and turns, and in the end we might get to different destinations. The indie artists who have devoted their life to music, who love it so much that they just can’t stop doing it, no matter how big the highs or how low the lows. (That’s true love I guess.)
Making this podcast and having these phone call conversations has been a very special experience for me. It doesn’t happen everyday that artists open up to each other like that and talk about things that maybe didn’t go so well or share their secrets that helped them further in their career. So far it’s creating a very supportive vibe among artists and it has been inspiring to learn from each other. As someone who is very internationally focussed and loves to tour in different countries it also has been an amazing opportunity for me to connect with artists around the world and talk about the differences in music markets from the artist perspective.”
In the first months you’ll hear artists from Canada, UK, The Netherlands and Germany talking about signing to Major labels and how it turned out different than they thought, releasing a record during corona crisis, going gold and platinum for the first time, participating at the TV show “The Voice” as an Indie Artist (and it being a curse and a blessing at the same time), the manipulation of the media or what is a fair pay for musicians?
